In vitro / In Vivo Anti-Arrhythmic Activity Based on the Vaughn-Williams Classification

Presence or absence of anti-arrhythmic activity by specific mechanism

Anti Arrhythmia Results

The chemical structures of 70 known anti-arrhythmic drugs were evaluated by the CHEMSAS™ model with regard to the presence or absence of specific activity according to the Vaughn-Williams Classification. The Results are summarized in Table 1 below.

*The Vaughn-Williams Classification of Anti-Arrhythmic Drugs

Class 1: Fast Sodium Channel Blocking drugs

Class 2: Beta Adrenergic Receptor Blocking drugs

Class 3: Potassium Channel Blocking drugs (prolong repolarization)

Class 4: Calcium Channel Blocking drugs

** PPV = Positive Predictive Value -> the outcome is positive when the model predicts it is positive

*** NPV = Negative Predictive Value -> the outcome is negative when the model predicts it is negative
